1. Instagram Stories are becoming more important than ever
Since their release in 2016, Instagram Stories have gained popularity thanks to the interactive nature and the personal connection that the brands can create with their fans.
The Story Highlight feature added last year is an extremely valuable contribution to a business profile because they allow brands to easily showcase the content they want users to see first.

2. Instagram Ads will become part of your Marketing Strategy
In 2017 there were more than 500,000 businesses using Instagram advertising and the number of companies advertising on the platform has doubled in the last 6 months of the year. Top 5 countries are the US, Brazil, UK, Australia and Canada.
Probably in the following months, Instagram will steal a larger share of media plans because of the changes in Instagram’s algorithm causing the organic reach to drop off.
On the other hand, according to this recent report, after looking at Instagram ads, 75% of Instagram users an take action: they visit a website or make a purchase.
3. There Will Be a Much Larger Focus on Video Content in 2018
Already many brands have included Instagram Videos in their marketing strategy.
At the moment, Instagram allows users to upload videos between 3-60 seconds in length, and from the first day when video posts were introduced, more than 5 million were shared.
Statistics say that Instagram’s video engagement numbers grew by 53% in May from the year before and this surpasses the 46% growth rate that photo posts received in the same timeframe.
